“Pursuant to Legislative Decree 116/2020, all packaging released for consumption in Italy is subject to environmental labeling obligations“
Environmental labeling of packaging consists of applying a label or providing information through other tools (APP, QR Code, barcode, EAN code, websites) on all packaging placed on the Italian market, to facilitate its collection, reuse, recovery and recycling.
The label provides information both on the identification of the materials of which the packaging is made and the indication of the correct management of them at the end of their life by the consumer, for example “Plastic collection“.
The provision of information is mandatory only for packaging placed in Italian territory.
On 11 September 2020, Legislative Decree 16/2020 was published in the Official Journal, which transposes EU Directive 2018/851 on waste, and Directive (EU) 2018/852 relating to packaging and packaging waste. The decree made important changes, introducing the obligation of environmental labeling for all packaging released for consumption in Italy.
We indicate alongside the necessary information regarding the materials we use. Primary, secondary and tertiary packaging must be separated and disposed of correctly.
